Former Vihiga Bullets, defender Vitalis Akumu has announced his retirement from competitive football aged 35.The utility defender has bowed out after parting ways with Bullets, a side that he turned out for last season. All will be well as I will do well in nurturing young talents,” he posted on Facebook.The former Western Stima, Sofapaka, Kisumu AllStars and Vihiga United man disclosed that he is keen on taking his coaching badges once FIFA’s suspension on Kenya is lifted. Kenya has been under a FIFA embargo since February over government interference after Sports CS Amina Mohammed disbanded the federation and installed a caretaker committee.“At 35 I felt it is time to call it a day. I have enjoyed my playing career and as I transition into coaching, I believe that I will equally do well, I want to unearth the next big talents in the country.
