FIFA Connect portal set to be activated on Thursday

The FIFA Connect, an online player registration portal is set to be opened on Thursday and run for a month.The opening of the portal clears the way for legitimate and distinct player registration unlike in the last season where clubs conducted business through the government-installed football committees that had no access to the system.During the past two transfer window, clubs were forced to share a copy of a release letter and contracts with the Transition Committee that in turn generated the mandatory license for a player to be allowed to feature in the league.##NAJAVA_MECA_6736794##Even though the clubs updated the details of the players on the portal that also helps clubs claim solidarity fees in case of a transfer, they were not approved. It is also through the portal that one can fish out verified data of all player registrations as well as generates a unique global football identity for all football stakeholders – including players, referees, coaches, officials, organizations and venues.When club Chief Executive Officers drawn from top flight clubs met on Monday, it was resolved that the portal will be opened for a month for clubs to register their players the legal way and update their records.The Football Kenya Federation General Secretary Barry Otieno also attended the meeting albeit on invitation from the club bosses.Table-topping FKFPL team on June 30 to represent Kenya in CAF Champions League“In anticipation for the resumption of the league, the Connect portal will be activated and all clubs will update their records. It will be opened from October 20 and will run for a period of thirty days,” said Gor Mahia CEO Raymond Oruo.The club honchos also stressed on the significance of the integrity of the league and opening the doors for all stakeholders.
