Mamelodi Sundowns reshuffle technical team

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced major changes to their technical bench, confirming Rhulani Mokwena as the sole head coach while demoting Manqoba Mngqithi to the position of a senior coach.The changes have also affected Steve Komphela who gets promoted to be the first team coach, with the more experienced Mngqithi taking up the role previously held by Komphela.Previously, Mokwena and Mngqithi have been serving as co-coaches since their appointment to replace Pitso Mosimane in October 2020.In a statement confirming the changes, the league defending champions confirmed that the alterations were necessitated by the recent poor and unconvincing results the team has recorded recently, the most recent one being bundled out of the MTN8 Cup over the weekend by Orlando Pirates.”Mamelodi Sundowns announced today the restructuring of its Technical Team and the changes in the responsibilities and employment positions of its coaches: Manqoba Mngqithi, Rulani Mokwena and Steve Komphela.
