Ruthless Wazito set to loan out twelve players deemed ‘lightweight’

Wazito FC are set to loan out 12 players who coach Jeffers Odongo believes are not ready to compete in the top tier after featuring in the just concluded, Western Region Mentorship tournament, a tournament that the now Kisumu based side, finished second behind Kakamega Homeboyz.The FKF Premier League side that recently relocated to Kisumu after change in ownership has been on a recruitment spree after losing nearly all the players that were part of the team last season due to financial challenges.##NAJAVA_MECA_6767480##36 players featured in the tournament but only 24 will be part of Odongo’s side. The tactician says the tournament was an eye opener for him and that he will have to temporarily send 12 of the players out for them to get more playtime. The players who will be heading out are majorly youngsters whom the club acquired from lower leagues and schools.“The tournament was an eye opener for us because it gave us the bigger picture of the players at our disposal. They are all young players who have never played in the top tier and we believe that they have the quality to grace the FKF Premier League in future, for now we will loan them out so that they can get the much-needed playtime. I believe that they will come back as better players,”.The club will also be beefing up the squad with a few more seasoned faces. Odongo says they have already identified the players that they intend to sign and are engaging them in contractual talks.“The window is now open and we intend to sign some more players. There are departments that we must beef up and we are going to get players in those positions.
