Muyoti contented with fledglings’ progress

Nairobi City Stars head coach Nicholas Muyoti is happy with the strides that his youthful side has been making during pre-season with each passing game and believes that they are headed in the right direction. After parting ways with a big chunk of their seasoned contingent, the Kawangware-based outfit decided to go for young untested talents. Most of their signings are players from the National Super League and below.##NAJAVA_MECA_6767398##The team featured in the recently concluded Elite Pre-season Cup and reached the final where they lost to Kenya Police FC an indicator that Muyoti may not miss the departees much. The team continues to feature in build-up matches and the former Oserian, Zetech University, Thika United, Nzoia Sugar, and Kakamega Homeboyz boss says they are making positive steps. He says that he keeps noticing improvement in his team as they continue to gel.“With the kind of friendly matches that we are playing, they are doing well, they are stepping up. Game after game we are seeing a lot of improvement and I am very happy because they are continuing to gel with the players who have been here, it is very positive with what’s happening here,” the tactician said.On Friday, City Stars took on Sofapaka in a friendly match in Ngong, the match ended in a one-all draw. Kelvin Etemesi opened the scoring for City Stars in the first stanza before David Kasirye earned his side a draw with a second-half equalizer and Muyoti was contented with his team’s show against Batoto ba Mungu.“The boys did very well of course apart from conceding an easy goal but the boys gave a good account of themselves especially now that we have a young team and we are preparing to see what combinations can work out for us,” he opined. No time to waste as Ababu gets down to work
