KCB unfazed by ‘tough’ opening fixtures

KCB FC assistant coach Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor says his side is satisfied with the just released league fixtures as the Bankers go all out in search of the elusive maiden league title.During the 2020/21 season, the Zedekiah Otieno-led charges came close to their first league title pushing Tusker all the way to the wire. They however lost the title on the final day. The 2021/22 season was a tricky one for the Bankers as they were not in the title race.##NAJAVA_MECA_6806392##The team is now preparing for the new campaign that gets underway in a week’s time. They made mass signings during the initial off-season window, bringing on board 13 players. Their signings are a combination of seasoned faces and fresh, unknown blood keen on making a name for themselves. In the released fixtures, KCB start the season with a match against Kenya Police FC. They will then host Kakamega Homeboyz before traveling to Mombasa to face Bandari in week three and Solo is not disturbed by what appears to be tough opening matches.”The fixtures are just okay because at the end of the day, you have to play the other 17 teams in the league and we are comfortable with our schedule,” the tactician said.FKF PREMIER LEAGUE 2022/2023 SEASON FIXTURES ARE OUT.@Officialfkfpl @NickMwendwaTech Twende uwanjani tushuhudie LEAGUE YETU! pic.twitter.com/lZgFFACK1H— Stephen Mukangai (@SMukangai) November 11, 2022 The tactician adds that they are now focusing on making players switch mentally from pre-season to competitive league action.”Right now, our focus is on shaking off the pre-season mentality and preparing the boys to get competitive. We’ve had a long off-season and sometimes players can switch off, it’s our duty to prepare them both physically and mentally,” he added.Although he admits that they will be facing a solid opponent in KCB, Oduor says the goal is to start the season on a high with a win over the equally ambitious law enforcers.”The goal is to start the season with a win because it could set the mood for the following games. Police is a decent team and we anticipate tough opposition from them, we have to be at our best to get the three points,”.Francis Omondi joins Ulinzi Stars
