Bidco head coach Anthony Akhulia is an happy man as his forward Stephen Waruru is inching closer to the starting team after recovering from a rib injury.Waruru fractured a rib during their 1-0 over Mathare United on November 6 at the Kasarani Annex and has been on the treatment table since then alongside Collins Neto who broke his limb in training the same month.78’| Goaaal @BidcoUnited Stephen Waruru with a clinical free kickScores @BidcoUnited 1-0 @VihigaUnitedFC#bkplligiyetu #BKPL pic.twitter.com/zUDUS2GRUn— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) June 25, 2021 Akhulia revealed that Waruru had resumed training a couple of days ago but suffered a minor setback in his bid to muscle for playing time when they faced Tusker on Wednesday at the Ruaraka grounds after developing fever days to the game. “He is getting better, at the moment he is down with fever but the most important thing is he recovered from the rib injury,” said the youthful tactician.🎥 | Goal of the day🆚 Tusker FcDavid Kalama’s superb delivery is headed home by Stephen Waruru. #Ready4whatever pic.twitter.com/amSdYvgYSW— Bidco United (@BidcoUnited) September 15, 2021 The return of the former Kenyan international comes at a time when Akhulia challenged his charges to step up their goal conversion rate which he noted was falling way lower than his expectations. Waruru joined Bidco in October 2020 after parting ways with KCB. The Thika based side has scored just nine goals in twelve matches a return that has left Akhulia a concerned tactician. The former player also expressed worry with the manner in which his defense let in goals. The club has conceded fourteen goals so far in the season. “We are not scoring enough from the chances we are creating. We would be at the top of the log had we been clinical upfront. The defense is not as tight as I would like it to be but we will continue working just to fine tune things,” he noted.
