Mozzart Bet Cup quarterfinals shifted to Dandora Stadium due to heavy rains

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has moved the Mozzart Bet Cup quarter-final matches slated for Saturday and Sunday to Dandora Stadium from Police Sacco Stadium due to the heavy rains ongoing in most parts of the country.Dandora, home to the National Super League (NSL) and FKF Division One outfits Rainbow FC and Dandora Youth, respectively, will play host to domestic cup doubleheaders on the aforementioned days.##NAJAVA_MECA_8056179##FKF’s Head of Leagues and Competitions Committee, Doreen Nabwire, affirmed the decision, citing the adverse weather conditions. “We had to move the matches to Dandora due to the rains we are witnessing in Nairobi,” she stated.The action kicks off with a doubleheader on Saturday, where defending champions Kakamega Homeboyz are set to clash with bankers Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) as they look to retain the title they won last year.Homeboyz advanced to the last eight after beating Tusker FC 1-0 in a repeat of the previous edition final in a captivating match held at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Kisumu, whereas the Bankers slayed Bidco United 3-1 to the quarters.FKF goes hard on Migori Youth, imposes tough measures to curb visiting teams’ harassmentThe match will be followed by crunch action between cup favourites Kenya Police and Sofapaka, who booked the ticket after eliminating lower-tier sides Mombasa Stars and Bungoma Stars, respectively.The action will continue on Sunday, with National Super League (NSL) outfit SS Assad going head-to-head with FKF premier League outfit Kariobangi Sharks.Assad booked space in the prestigious domestic cup after dispatching Denmark 5-4 on post-match penalties in a Coastal derby staged at Ukunda Showgrounds, while Sharks got the better part of Ulinzi Stars to advance.Mozzart Bet Cup: Ochieng eyes glory with KCB2017 cup winners AFC Leopards will have a chance to amend their derby loss to Gor Mahia when they come up against FKF Division One side Compel SC, who have had a fairytale since the onset of the competition, seeing off NSL sides in their journey to the quarters.Winners of these matches will proceed to the semifinals scheduled for May.The overall champion of the Mozzart Bet Cup will pocket Ksh 2,000,000 and have a chance to represent Kenya in the CAF Confederation Cup next season (2024-2025).
